Dr. James W. McPherson Jr.
Dr. McPherson a.k.a. "Dr. Mac" was the man who began this practice 30 years ago in Hermitage, TN. He was passionate about life and giving people beautiful smiles. He was always there with a great big smile, a gentle touch and sometimes a funny joke. He loved dentistry and you can definitely say he lived his passion. I never worked with my father but he inspired me to be the best and to care for each patient to the best of my abilities. This office location was his dream and part of his dream was to have my brother and I practice with him. Unfortunately, that part of his dream was never fulfilled; we lost my father suddenly to a heart attack on February 23, 2004. While I miss him dearly, I am fulfilling my dreams as well as his in continuing his excellence in dentistry.

Dr. James W. McPherson III
Dr. Will McPherson is my other inspiration for continuing excellence in dentistry. He was my younger brother and for those of you who had the good fortune of knowing him or being his patient know what a great dentist he was and was going to be. We had a lot of dreams for this practice and ourselves. Will battled a recurrent brain tumor from the time he started practicing in June 2004 until his untimely death at age 29 on March 10, 2008. His strength, courage and determination never failed him and will always inspire me. He never complained about his circumstances. I am still saddened that I didn't have the opportunity to practice with him longer and fulfill our fathers dream together. I know they are together watching over this practice and me.

Our sweet Beth, there are too many words to describe her but as the other important people before her, she was a true inspiration to me, this office and to dentistry. She was extremely passionate about dentistry and loved caring for the patients. She was so talented and I relied on her strength, knowledge and inspiration often. I only had the opportunity to practice with Beth for a short time after my father passed away but that short time was very fulfilling. Unfortunately, after a long and courageous battle, we lost Beth to breast cancer on July 10, 2007.

I wanted to share this to help you understand where my passion and drive for excellence in dentistry comes from. I love what I do and am blessed to be able to provide care to all of you. These wonderful people who I miss daily are the reason that my purpose for this practice is to continue THE TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE...
